Serbia
Serbia is a landlocked country, home to four different mountain systems, including the Dinaric Alps in the west, the Carpathian and Balkan Mountains in the south of the country, and the Rhodopes in the southeast. The mountainous terrain results in a moderate continental climate.
Serbia has a population of 7 million (2020) and is subdivided into 29 districts (first-level administrative divisions), 145 municipalities (second-level administrative divisions), two autonomous provinces (Kosovo and Vojvodina).
The land area of Serbia is 77,474 km² and land use is mainly agriculture and forestry (57.9% and 31.6%). Agricultural land is divided between permanent pasture (16.8%) and arable (37.7%).
