Kosovo

Kosovo’s1  diversity in flora accounts for about 25% of the flora in the Balkans. This regional significance stems primarily from the Sharr mountains in the southeast of the country, which are home to the immense diversity of flora and fauna. 

The country has a population of 1,935,259 (2021) and is divided into 38 municipalities. 

The land area of Kosovo is 10,887 km², and the land use is split nearly evenly between agriculture and forest (52.8% and 41.7%). Agricultural land is evenly divided between permanent pasture and arable.
