Bulgaria

Bulgaria is located on the eastern portion of the Balkan peninsula. Bordering the Black Sea, the country an impressive topographical diversity, including vast plains and plateaus. The country is home to a large wolf population and has seen the resurgence of the brown bear in the Rhodope mountains in recent years.  

The population of Bulgaria is 6,781,953 (2022), and the country is split into 265 municipalities. 

Bulgaria has a land area of 110,994 km², with land use including forestry (33.13%) and agriculture (54.6%).
