Bosnia and Herzegovina
Bosnia and Herzegovina is characterized by its mountainous terrain which makes up the central Dinaric Alps. The biogeographic diversity in Bosnia and Herzegovina, can be attributed to a combination of their Mediterranean climate, a wide network of major rivers and a large degree of the forest cover.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has a population of 3,824,782 and the country is regionalized, divided into 2 entities: The Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FB&H) and Republic of Srpska (RS).
The country has a land area of 51,197 km² and land use is evenly divided between forest (42.8% and agricultural land 42.2%). Agricultural land is fairly evenly divided between permanent pasture and arable.
